چکیده

Abstract Background A triple-tapered polished femoral stem was implanted with line-to-line cementing technique. The purpose of this study to determine the survivorship, loosening rate, subsidence, radiologic changes and clinical outcomes in minimum 10-year follow-up. Methods This a retrospective done three institutes. Finally, 118 hips 97 patients could be followed-up at mean follow-up period 126.3 months. radiological were investigated. Results Radiologically, 107 (90.7%) categorized Barrack grade A, 108 stems (91.5%) inserted neutral position. All not loose revised due any reason. Survival revision for reason as endpoint 100% after 10 years. At last follow-up, subsidence 0.43 mm, less than 1 mm 110 (93.2%). JOA hip score improved from 42.7 ± 8.9 points preoperatively 92.8 6.8 No patient complained thigh pain. Conclusions Line-to-line technique use effective achieve good cementation quality centralization stem. small, results excellent without failures related Trial registration Retrospectively registered.

Femoral revision with the Wagner tapered stem: a ten- to 15-year follow-up study.

Revision after failed femoral components may be technically demanding due to loss of peri-prosthetic bone. This retrospective study evaluated the long-term results of femoral revision using the cementless Wagner Self-Locking stem. Between 1992 and 1998, 68 consecutive hips in 66 patients underwent femoral revision using this implant. A total of 25 patients died from unrelated causes without fur...

Radiographic evaluation of cementation technique using polished, conical, triple-tapered femoral stem in hip arthroplasty☆

OBJECTIVE To radiographically evaluate the quality of cementation and implantation technique using a polished, triple-tapered femoral stem in total hip arthroplasty (THA). METHOD Retrospective study with radiographic evaluation of 86 hips in 83 patients who underwent to primary THA with the triple-tapered cemented femoral stem C-Stem (DePuy Orthopedics, Warsaw, Indiana). Cases with at least o...

Ten-year RSA-measured migration of the Exeter femoral stem.

The Exeter femoral stem is a double-tapered highly polished collarless cemented implant with good long-term clinical results. In order to determine why the stem functions well we have undertaken a long-term radiostereometric analysis (RSA) study. A total of 20 patients undergoing primary Exeter total hip replacement for osteoarthritis using the Hardinge approach were recruited and followed with...

Collarless polished tapered stem: clinical and radiological results at a minimum of ten years' follow-up.

We retrospectively reviewed 175 patients (191 hips) who had undergone primary cemented total hip replacement between November 1992 and November 1995 using a collarless polished double-tapered femoral component after a minimum of ten years (mean 11.08; 10 to 12.8). All stems were implanted using contemporary cementing techniques with a distal cement restrictor, pressurised lavage, retrograde cem...

The use of the cemented Exeter Universal femoral stem in a District General Hospital: a minimum ten-year follow-up.

We describe the survivorship of the Exeter femoral component in a District General Hospital. Between 1994 and 1996, 230 Exeter Universal cemented femoral components were implanted in 215 patients who were reviewed at a mean of 11.2 years (10 to 13). We used one acetabular implant, the Elite Ogee component, in 218 of the 230 hips. During the period of this study 76 patients (79 hips) died. Of th...
